The station was inaugurated by the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Manohar Joshi, around 30 years ago. Today, it is rapidly becoming modern and aesthetically enhanced. The station's entrance features a beautiful garden with statues of wildlife, aquatic creatures, and animals from Konkan culture. The walls are adorned with murals representing Konkan's heritage. There are also dedicated parking areas. The station's entrance also features a photograph of the former Union Railway Minister and architect of Konkan Railway, Madhu Dandavate, honoring his connection to the region. As part of the station's improvement, a new ticket office is being opened in the Gandhareswar area to benefit passengers. The initiative was spearheaded by the Konkan Railway Injustice Redressal Committee's president, Shaukat Mukaadam.

Walls par murals lagaye gaye hai jo Konkan ke heritage ko represent karte hai. Parking areas bhi banaye gaye hai. Station ke entrance mein former Union Railway Minister and architect of Konkan Railway, Madhu Dandavate ki photo bhi lagayi gayi hai, jiske through unki connection to the region ko honor kiya ja raha hai. the 'Hubli Vande Bharat' stops at Satara, Sangli, Miraj, Belgaum, and Dharwad. Notably, both trains stop at Sangli and Miraj, which are only 7 kilometers apart. The association questioned the lack of stops at Sawantwadi, which is 49 kilometers from Kankavali, where the 'Madgaon Vande Bharat' stops. The association believes that if the 'Kolhapur Vande Bharat' can stop at stations with a distance of 7, 32.7, and 35 kilometers, then the 'Madgaon Vande Bharat' can also stop at Sawantwadi, which is closer than these distances.

Association ne Sawantwadi par stop na dene ke baare mein sawal uthaya hai, jo ki Kankavali se 49 kilometer door hai, jahaan par 'Madgaon Vande Bharat' rukti hai. Association ka maanana hai ki agar 'Kolhapur Vande Bharat' 7, 32.7, aur 35 kilometer ki duri par ruk sakti hai, toh 'Madgaon Vande Bharat' bhi Sawantwadi par ruk sakti hai, jo ki in distances se kam hai.
