Railway Board directs all zones to monitor technical inputs generated by ‘Data Logger’ to prevent collisions – What is this device?

To enhance safety and prevent train collisions, Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar has directed all 17 railway zones to daily review technical reports generated by 'data logger' devices. These devices, installed at stations, record real-time data on signals and train operations, identifying potential failures. They can also generate exception reports if...

two trains are about to enter the same track. Recent accidents in West Bengal (June 2024) and Andhra Pradesh (October 2023) were attributed to safety violations recorded by data loggers. Kumar emphasized the need for Divisional Managers to monitor these reports daily, with the Railway Board conducting random reviews. He expressed concern that this instruction was not followed by several divisions, referencing an incident on September 10, 2024, where six divisions were requested to submit reports, with only three providing complete data. Kumar stressed the importance of monitoring these reports even if no exceptions are observed. Railway experts view this directive as a crucial step towards proactive safety measures.

Train collision ko rokne aur safety norms ko badhane ke liye, Railway Board ke Chairman Satish Kumar ne 17 railway zones ke sabhi general managers ko 'data logger' device se banne waale technical reports ko har roz check karne ka order diya hai. Ye device, stations pe install kiye gaye hain,...

aur yeh signal systems aur train operations ke real-time data ko record karte hain, aur isse possible operational failures ko identify kiya ja sakta hai. Agar do trains ek hi track pe jaane wali hoti hain to ye exception report bhi generate kar sakte hain.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
