Mishra revealed that the Federation's pressure led to an increase in the number of Assistant Loco Pilot recruitments from 5000 to 18799. Furthermore, notifications are expected soon for filling approximately 1.5 lakh vacancies for various positions, including 6000 Junior Engineers, 1 lakh Gangmen, 25000 Technicians, TCs, ASMs, and others. He expressed his disapproval of the practice of outsourcing employees for safety-related positions, claiming it increases the risk of accidents. The AIRF has also advocated for the installation of Kavach (anti-collision system) across all lines to minimize train collisions. Regarding other issues, Mishra emphasized the ongoing fight to abolish the New Pension Scheme and reinstate the Old Pension Scheme, stating that it would become a fight against both the central and state governments if a favorable decision isn't made soon. He also demanded the formation of an 8th Pay Commission and a Wage Review Committee, which should submit its report within six months. He raised concerns about the lack of medicines, dilapidated quarters, and water problems faced by employees in the Dhanbad division, which is the highest earning division in the country. In addition, ECRKU president DK Pandey and general secretary SNP Srivastava emphasized the need for a new railway hospital in Dhanbad, eliminating the need for railway employees to travel to Patna for dialysis and other medical needs. The AIRF general secretary and union officials held discussions with DRM Kamal Kishore Sinha regarding local issues and extended their greetings to him upon his arrival.
