end of June or the first week of July. A 17 km section from Reasi to Katra will be operational within six months. The 46 km Reasi-Sangaldan section, which features the Chenab Bridge, has already been tested with a MEMU train. The bridge stands at an impressive height of 359 meters, surpassing the Eiffel Tower. The USBRL project, spanning 272 km, has already seen 209 km commissioned in phases since 2009. Once the Reasi-Katra section is operational, Kashmir will be connected by rail to the rest of India. This project, which began in 1997, passes through challenging terrain and is a monumental achievement in engineering.
