This is a passing train for them and moreover it is single line over saturated line between DMM & Yelahanka

This train crawls in SWR. Delay increases after DMM and same is the case with KSK. Regarding PFs at SBC, Mail is brought to PF.No.1 at around 10 PM only. And in some cases when Kurla arrives at around 10 PM, Mail is made to wait on the pitline before being shunted until Kurla arrives on PF.No.3 after which it is shunted. There have also been instances when I have seen Mail being held up for Kurla to proceed towards CBE. Once, Kurla arrived at 22:30 PM or so and departed at 22:40. Mail was delayed for Kurla to depart with minimal delay. A rare incident. :) Usually, Kurla waits at SBC outer if it arrives around 10:30 PM for Mail to depart. SBC MAS SF gets PF.No.2 where it stays till next day morning. Now it will be vacant as train is extended to MYS.PF.No.3 is vacated by Lalbagh as...

At least few years ago i do remember this train arriving bang on time around 10pm at SBC regularly. These days its regular arrival time is around 11:30pm and because of the slack it has and just 1-2 crossings between BYPL-SA single line stretch it generally has a free run and is able to reach CBE on time or delayed by 20-25 minutes only
situation may improve somewhat by july, tondebhavi-deverapalli (36km) and YNK-DBL (20km) DL will be commissioned
Generally, the train can cover SBC CBE in 7 hrs easily since there are not many crossings in SBC - SA single line. That would mean even if it is 2 hrs late at SBC, there is a very good chance it can arrive at CBE on time.
