Special trains announced between Chennai Egmore-Kanniyakumari for Pooja holidays; check details

Southern Railway (SR) is operating special trains between Chennai Egmore and Kanniyakumari to accommodate the expected surge in passengers during Ayudha Pooja. The bi-weekly superfast train, Train No 06193, will depart from Chennai Egmore at 11:45 pm on October 10th and 12th, arriving in Kanniyakumari at 12:20 pm the next day....

The return train, Train No 06194, will leave Kanniyakumari at 2:45 pm on October 11th and 13th, reaching Chennai Egmore the following day. These special trains will consist of 10 sleeper class coaches, 6 general second class coaches, and 2 luggage cum brake vans. Advance reservations for these trains are open.

A special train (06044) will depart from Chennai Central at 1:45 PM on January 29th and reach Coimbatore at 11:05 PM the same day. A special train (06043) will depart from Coimbatore at 11:30 PM on January 28th and arrive at Chennai Central at 8:30 AM the next day. Egmore to Kanyakumari will depart on January 29th at 1:00 PM, arriving in Kanyakumari at 2:45 AM the next day. Another special train from Coimbatore to Chennai Central Station will depart on January 28th at 11:30 PM, arriving at Chennai Central at 8:30 AM the next day. This train will return to Coimbatore on January 29th at 1:45 PM, arriving at 11:05 PM. These special trains are being operated in response to the heavy influx of passengers returning to Chennai after the holiday.
