move from platform 2 to platform 1, the Coimbatore-Hisar AC Super Fast Express traveling from Kannur towards Mangalore struck them. Some members of the group managed to move out of the way, but others were caught in the darkness, unaware of the impending accident. The train remained at the station for 14 minutes from 7:19 PM to 7:33 PM for investigation. A bag, believed to belong to one of the victims, was found stuck in the engine.
