The first train for the pilgrimage departed from Durg on February 7th with strict security measures in place. The scheme is open to Chhattisgarh residents aged 18 to 75, with a preference for those 55 years and older in the initial phase. The selection process will be managed by committees in each district, ensuring safety, health, and a fulfilling pilgrimage experience. The scheme prioritizes 75% rural and 25% urban participants, with one free pilgrimage per individual. Currently, government employees are not eligible. Additionally, the government has announced a social audit of the Shriram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit, following concerns raised by BJP MLAs about the quality of the project and the accuracy of historical representations.
