Rains trigger mud slip on railway track, NMR services suspended

were disappointed and had to take buses or other vehicles instead. The NMR train service was suspended before it even started its journey from Mettupalayam station at 7:10 am. The district administration issued an orange alert for the Nilgiris and advised tourists to avoid visiting Ooty for three days due to the heavy rains. Repairs are underway to restore train services.
