The DPR proposes alternative gradients of 1:100, 1:70, and 1:80. Currently, there are three lines in the Bhor Ghat section (up, down, and middle), which are prone to disruptions due to landslides during the monsoon season. The new lines will increase the total number of lines to five, ensuring uninterrupted rail service. The benefits of the new lines include increased train frequency, reduced travel time, no need for banker engines, alternative routes in case of landslides or accidents, extended rail life due to less wear and tear, and uninterrupted passenger services.
