Railway : Good News! पुणे-मुंबई प्रवासाचा वेग वाढणार; कारण?

The Indian Railways is planning to construct two new railway lines in the Bhor Ghat section between Pune and Mumbai to speed up train travel. A detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared by the Konkan Railway, and a LiDAR survey using a helicopter was recently completed. The DPR...

will be presented to the Railway Board within the next two months. Seven options for the new lines have been proposed, with a target speed of 120 kilometers per hour. While the new lines will reduce the steepness of the ghat section, they will increase the overall distance. The project is estimated to cost between 8000 and 18000 crores. The current steep gradient of 1:37, one of the steepest in Asia, necessitates the use of banker engines for trains traveling from Karjat to Lonavala. The DPR proposes alternative gradients of 1:100, 1:70, and 1:80. Currently, there are three lines in the Bhor Ghat section (up, down, and middle), which are prone to disruptions due to landslides during the monsoon season. The new lines will increase the total number of lines to five, ensuring uninterrupted rail service. The benefits of the new lines include increased train frequency, reduced travel time, no need for banker engines, alternative routes in case of landslides or accidents, extended rail life due to less wear and tear, and uninterrupted passenger services.

Pune aur Mumbai ke beech mein train travel ko jaldi banane ke liye, Bhor Ghat mein do nayi railway lines banai ja rahi hain. Konkan Railway ek detailed project report (DPR) taiyar kar raha hai, aur haal hi mein helicopter se LiDAR survey kiya gaya. DPR agle do mahino mein...

Railway Board ko submit kiya jaayega. Nayi lines ke liye saat options suggest kiye gaye hain, jinka target speed 120 kilometers per hour hai. Currently, Bhor Ghat mein teen lines hain (up, down, aur middle), jo monsoon season mein landslides ki wajah se disruptions ka shikar hoti hain. Nayi lines se total lines ki sankhya panch ho jaayegi, jisse uninterrupted rail service ensure hogi. Nayi lines ke benefits mein train frequency badhna, travel time kam hona, banker engines ki zarurat khatam hona, landslides ya accidents ke case mein alternative routes available hona, kam wear and tear ki wajah se rail life badhna, aur uninterrupted passenger services shamil hain.
