The rapid rail aims to enhance intercity connectivity. It's India's first AC train with standard coaches. The first rapid rail in the country commenced between Bhuj and Ahmedabad on September 16, 2023, and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The train's name was changed from Vande Metro to Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. The minimum fare for this train has been set at ₹30.

Desh ki pehli rapid rail Bhuj aur Ahmedabad ke beech 16 September ko chali thi, aur Prime Minister Narendra Modi ne iska udghatan kiya tha. Tab is train ka naam Vande Metro se badal kar Namo Bharat Rapid Rail rakh diya gaya. Railway ab is train ko deshbhar mein sabhi jagah se chalne ki taiyari kar rahi hai. The rake used between ADI and Bhuj has 12 coaches. Here they're talking about 16. Is this correct, or is it a misprint?
Also, where do they plan to introduce this NBRR? Guess Kota UJN seems to be a good option.
