facilitate coal transportation from Mahanadi coal fields to power plants in South India, benefiting iron ore and aluminum industries. The line will have 34 major bridges and 264 minor bridges, along with 41 ROBs and 76 RUBs. It will serve as an alternate route to the coastal line, reducing the distance from Bastar to South India by 124 km. It is expected to create one million jobs during construction. The new line will be a branch of the existing Kazipet-Vijayawada line and will bypass busy routes like Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam.
