In the past year and a half, the railways had removed general and sleeper coaches from long-distance trains and added third AC and economy coaches. This caused difficulty for passengers to secure confirmed seats in sleeper coaches. After concerns were raised to the Railway Board, the decision was made to increase sleeper and general coaches. Some trains will have additional sleeper and general coaches starting from October, November, and December, including the Howrah-Jagdalpur Express, Patna-Bilaspur Weekly, Howrah-Mumbai Mail, Howrah-Mumbai Express, Tata-Bengaluru Express, Tata-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express, Tata-Ernakulam Express, Tata-Yesvantpur, Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, Howrah-Hatia Kriya Yoga Express, Shalimar-Bhuj Express, Howrah Geetanjali Express, and Howrah-Mumbai Express. It is important to note that waiting tickets are not valid in reserved coaches. This issue was brought to light due to passengers facing difficulty with limited general and sleeper coaches in trains like the Buxar Express, Durg South Bihar Express, and Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express.
