The inauguration also included the announcement of a future Metro line connecting Gurgaon to Faridabad. Separately, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) awarded the Detailed Designed Consultant contract for the Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1 project (Package BCDD-01) to SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India). This contract, valued at Rs. 1.012 crore, will involve designing U-girders, pier caps, and bearings for Line 1, which runs 26.04 km from Biju Patnaik Airport to Trishulla Square. The line will have 20 elevated stations and is being built in three viaduct packages: BBC-03, BBC-04, and BBC-05.
