The Kerala government's K-Rail project for high-speed rail is unlikely to materialize due to the Indian Railways' lack of interest. As an alternative, the central government has proposed a third railway line in Kerala, with feasibility studies nearing completion. Three routes are under consideration: Shoranur-Eranakulam (Thiruvananthapuram division), Shoranur-Mangaluru, and...

Shoranur-Coimbatore (Palakkad division). Aerial surveys and soil testing are ongoing. The Railway Board will make the final decision based on economic feasibility. A third line would enable trains to travel at 160 kmph, improving existing services and enabling new ones. Currently, only Vande Bharat trains exceed 100 kmph in Kerala, with other trains limited to 80 kmph or even 50 kmph in some areas.

Kerala government ka K-Rail project, high-speed rail ke liye, abhi toh hota nahin dikhta. Indian Railways ko isme interest nahin hai. Central government ne iske badle Kerala mein third railway line ka proposal diya hai, jiske feasibility studies almost complete ho gaye hain. Teen routes consider kiye ja rahe...

hain: Shoranur-Eranakulam (Thiruvananthapuram division), Shoranur-Mangaluru, aur Shoranur-Coimbatore (Palakkad division). Aerial surveys aur soil testing chal rahe hain. Railway Board economic feasibility dekh kar final decision lega. Third line se trains 160 kmph ki speed se chal payenge, existing services improve ho jayenge aur new services start ho payenge. Abhi toh sirf Vande Bharat trains 100 kmph se zyada speed se chalti hain Kerala mein, baaki trains 80 kmph ya phir kuchh areas mein 50 kmph tak limited hain.
