from the train. According to the Southeast Zone, the criminals boarded the Kurla Express at Jhargaram station on April 24th. Before reaching Mecheda station, they targeted a woman passenger, but she sensed the theft and raised an alarm, leading to the capture of one of the perpetrators. Other passengers handed over the Sansi gang member to the Mecheda RPF and GRP. During questioning, the suspect revealed the names and addresses of his accomplices. Subsequently, the security team, along with the apprehended suspect, travelled to Haryana and recovered the jewelry, which was then returned to the victim. The woman expressed her gratitude to the RPF-GRP team. In a separate incident, five members of the Haryana Sansi gang were apprehended by a combined team of Chakradharpur Mandal RPF Special Squad and Tatanagar GRP personnel at Tatanagar station and Adityapur. Jewelry recovered from one of the suspects was returned to Balbhadra Khandwal, a resident of Rourkela, after a court order six months later. The arrested individuals, Tinkoo Kumar alias Motu and Balwant alias Kala, were taken into custody by the Secunderabad Rail Police. The Mumbai and Rourkela GRP teams also traveled to Tatanagar to conduct investigations at the railway station. It is believed that certain villages in Haryana are known for their inhabitants forming inter-state gangs that engage in stealing jewelry, cash, and other valuables from passengers on trains across the country.
