I cant understand how it is repetitive because there is no direct train to SA from MDU in morning. TN MYS, SMVT NCJ, Balaji chalukya all r overnight. In day it is just connected by weekly. Madurai Salem is 220 kms via Karur namakkal. TN MYS itself goes long way via ED. when there is bus for every 5 mins in shortest path. There would be no reason to get into train which travel more than 90 kms long and travel time more than 2 hours with SF/Express cost. one of the planned VB is from madurai Bengaluru which might create a day train for SA to MDU but not all people can be catered by such train. Leaving that,This MEMU intended to cater all intermediate people along with E2E considering OMNI bus going in 4.5 hrs-5 hrs in a day non stop run, This TT competites that compelling people to...
more... take train reliving road. if 10% of present road users switch to this train this train can easily fill upto 6 coaches easily. Considering daily users intermediates this can be easily go for 16 coacher that will help for Xfer crowd in salem, festival crowd in madurai, palani, Namakkal, Salem. it also help someone to who for bangalore by connecting to KIK SBC express. Why any IMG TT people need to consider for Railways economy when railways in run by tax payers money. There are here to serve. whatever the loss it occurs, Govt going to take care. Rather than spending millions in expanding road networks, Rail connectivity saves economy in long run.

In the daytime, you can only catch a weekly connection. Madurai to Salem is 220 kms via Karur namakkal. TN MYS itself goes a long way through ED. When there's a bus every 5 mins on the shortest route, why bother with a train that goes over 90 kms and takes more than 2 hours, costing like SF/Express a lot? One of the planned VB trains is from Madurai to Bengaluru, which might run a day train to MDU from SA, but not everyone can be accommodated on such a train. In light of that, this MEMU aims to serve all the middle folks, with an end-to-end journey in mind considering the OMNI bus that makes a non-stop 4.5-5 hrs trip in a day. This train timetable makes it enticing for people to choose trains over the road. If just 10% of the current road users switch to this train, it can easily fill up to 6 coaches with ease. With daily users in mind, it could even go for 16 coaches, helping with the transfer crowd in Salem and the festival crowd in Madurai, Palani, Namakkal, and Salem. It also assists those heading to Bangalore by connecting to the KIK SBC express. Why should any ordinary person even care about the Railways' economy? It's funded by taxpayer money, they're here to serve. Whatever losses occur, the government will handle. Instead of spending millions expanding road networks, rail connectivity saves the economy in the long haul, dude.
