This issue stemmed from damage caused to civic utility lines during the metro rail construction in 2021. These included stormwater lines, drainage lines, and catchpits, some of which were diverted, particularly those in front of MLA Shailesh Parmar's residence. A total of 15 stormwater and drainage lines were repaired, including those in Thaltej village and between Naranpura and Sanghvi Crossings. Other areas affected by the metro construction include the 132 Foot Ring Road through Akhbarnagar, Subhash Bridge Circle, Sabarmati Powerhouse to Motera trijunction, and Motera village to Tapovan Circle. This incident highlights a lack of coordination between AMC and GMRC and the wastage of public funds.
