please wait...Translate to EnglishFrom February 2019 till February 2024, South Eastern Railway has basically added only 12 to 14 new trains, mostly these r MEMU trains. If we keep aside any trains just passing through SER, the demand for SER has shot up by over 100%.
When we look at the neglected parts, the Kharagpur and Adra Divisions of SER are the most ignored. They have barely got 7 new trains, most of them because of other zones like East Coast Railway, and mostly these r MEMU trains in the last 5 years. Adra division has been missing out on new trains and there have been many cancellations of existing ones. The Kharagpur Division has also not been receiving any long-distance express trains recently. After a substantial gap, they only got 1 express train, SHM-BMPR Express, and 2 Viswabharati Express, and even these are not long-distance ones. In the past few years, several existing trains in the Kharagpur division have been permanently cancelled.
Additionally, many trains have been extended from SER to other zones.
