Tribals restive in Rourkela as ‘long-drawn battles to reclaim our land seem to have no end in sight’

Rourkela Steel Plant and Marshalling Yard Displaced Committee (RSPMYDC), has threatened an economic blockade if their demand is not met. They argue that the land acquisition was illegal and that tribals were not adequately compensated. The RSPMYDC also alleges that the state government used the returned land for commercial purposes instead of returning it to the original owners. The ASC and RSPMYDC have called for compensation, employment opportunities in the RSP and Indian Railways, and regular land rent payments for development on tribal land.

woh land tribals ka hi hai. ASC, aur Rourkela Steel Plant and Marshalling Yard Displaced Committee (RSPMYDC), ne economic blockade ki dhamki di hai agar unki demand fulfill nahi hui. Unka argument hai ki land acquisition illegal tha aur tribals ko adequate compensation nahi mila. RSPMYDC ka yeh bhi kehna hai ki state government ne returned land ko tribals ko vapas karne ki jagah, commercial purpose ke liye use kiya. ASC aur RSPMYDC ne compensation, RSP and Indian Railways mein employment opportunities, aur tribal land par development ke liye regular land rent payments ki demand ki hai.
