After a brief hiatus, I am back on IRI ❤️🙏🏻
In the Feb end, Me & Amit bhai from Bhilai had made a short trip to Baripada and at that time, I had shared some stories. There I had shared only one reason for my visit to this place. The second reason was kept a secret, and here it is...
The...
more... bygone history of South Eastern Railways, that existed like a couple of decades ago, the Locomotive that served the Narrow Gauge Rupsa-Bhanjpur section.
SER's own Narrow Gauge Diesel Loco Shed Baripada(BPO) ZDM5 #534 lying without any life inside the small DLS of Baripada.
This place had only an old tubelight on since I dont know like last decade. Some steam engines are there too in rusted condition inside the Narrow Gauge Graveyard. Fortunately, some wooden repairing works was going on nearby the DLS where one NG coach from Motibagh(MIB) Workshop has come. Just after a month of our visit, this place has been demolished into mere dust and this locomotive's paint has been removed using a sandpaper showcasing the metal rust. This place looks like a set from those haunted movies. Further asking the gateman there, we heard the good news that there, a NG Museum is going to be constructed where the existing NG Locomotives & Coaches were going to be plinthed. This made us rejoice. We were happy that Railways was doing at least this for those once upon a time hard workers of the section.
This shot was only possible, all thanks to the pro mode of the phone camera.
