Stubborn attitude of IR not increase the base fare of non ac pax which constitute about 90-95% of total pax volume is well known. The whole gimmickry of marketing/ packaging of railway services being followed since last 15 years is a direct fall out of this fact.

more... introducing special/tatkal fare trains instead of regular fare train etc are are just attempts to make up for the lost revenue.
