Pic 1 - The submerged part of Bagalkot city. It was submerged during the floods and the backwaters of R. Krishna submerged some part of the city. People were rehabilitated to the new part called Navanagar, which recently got a station too.

The train reached BGK at around 9:20. 25 mins before time. Then the most unusual thing happened; it left before time at 9:40, 10 mins BT!
Water...
more... filling is done at BJP, not here.
-
The speed after BGK was given 75. On the right the new line to Khajjidoni ran parallel till Navanagar halt. This line is connected to only PF 1 of BGK.
-
At Badami again halted on mainline to allow crossing of passenger, then one more halt for a freight crossing. As it was running BT, it just stood on mainline for all the crossings but still crossed MLP at 10:40, 40 mins BT.
-
Finally at HBL it just stood on the mainline for 15 mins from 10:50 to 11:05. No crossing nor any problem at GDG PF, since PF 3 is reserved for this train and no freight or other passenger would need it too. I thought it will wait till 12 on that mainline, but thankfully they allowed it in at 11:20 at GDG. An hour BT!!!

Pillars can be seen on Mallaprabha river. Other works are going on, but most of the land levelling is done. So like other lines earthworks are almost over, its just funding and rails are required to complete the doubling. Not much work on GDG outer for both this line or UBL line.
-
The train can easily do the SUR - GDG in 5 hours with crossings and current single line. Even if slack were given, it can maintain 55 average and complete the distance in 5 and half hour. They can add Indi Road and Almatti as halts and still maintain 55 avg. and can continue as SF on SUR-GDG section too.
The current 7 Hrs is too much.
-
Very good crowd in UR when it came to SUR itself since very little quota given for BJP, BGK, GDG. The rush continues all the way.
