Nimach - Chittaurgarh doubling progress report. Official target 2019-2020.
- Bridges need to be constructed for almost the entire stretch, except for a 15 or so kilometer stretch from Chittaurgarh to Shambhupura where most bridges are constructed and three bigger ones need to be finished.
- Leveling of the land for laying the ballast and track is done for about...
more... 70% of the route.
- Ballast has been laid on about 40% of the track.
- For much of the stretch between Nimbahera and Chittaurgarh, with the exception of Shambhupura and Ordi stations and all the bridges, you see a non-tamped, provisionally short-welded track tied to sleepers and placed on a thin bed of ballast. The rails were connected with 2 nuts to a fishplate, so I'm fairly sure this is temporary and that they will weld this track.
- There is a colossal depot containing lots of sleepers at Shambhupura.
- One existing platform is being demolished on all small stations on the route, and being built a few metres inwards to make room for the new track. Along with the platform, new overbridges are being built which are long and lightly inclined (to facilitate ease of manual goods movement). Differing levels of completion but nowhere is the work actually complete.
