I was feeling quite good, and ecstatic at the fact that I was visiting this route after a gap of almost 3 Years. The location we visited was Chola, A Small Wayside Station in the Delhi - Aligarh - Kanpur Route, part of the Ghaziabad - Kanpur High Speed Section; and one of the busiest sections of Indian Railways...

This time though, many have been converted to the Modern and Luxurious LHB Coaches; which includes some of the night riders as well. We were there for the daytime actions though. On a busy day this route can be witness to over a 150 trains, freight and passenger traffic combined. We had been there to spot a mere fraction of the actions.
This particular video is of the 12034/ New Delhi - Kanpur Shatabdi Express; one of the fastest Shatabdi Category trains in terms of overall average speed. As we reached Chola, there was not much action initially. An odd freighter would turn up; only towards Ghaziabad that too. The line towards Kanpur was to witness the back to back speed shows of the evening speed kings. Within sometime, Sitamarhi bound Lichchavi Express scurried towards Aligarh, looking for a place to get looped; for it was being chased by the NCR speedster, Kanpur Shatabdi. Within minutes of Lichchavi disappearing, the Down line starter went Green.
With bated breath we waited, and in few minutes a white speck appeared in the distance. All guns blazing, led majestically by a WAP-5 from Ghaziabad; the 12034 New Delhi Kanpur Shatabdi Express unleashed its fury with full force; speeding past Chola at 130 Kmph. It had set the tone for the evening; and we were left speechless with this speed display. It was just about the beginning. Enjoy the video folks. There is more to come.
