I am posting my train trip for the first time from Dhanbad to NDLS by Duronto. I had to reach Dhanbad from Raniganj/Asansol where this train does not stop. I had to reach from Asansol to Dhanbad by Jaisalmer SF express at 11:15 AM which reached Dhanbad at 12:15 PM. I had to wait at Dhanbad retiring room for 3 hrs. Asansol Dhanbad local/EMU arrived at 3:45 PM. It was over crowded and further filled till Gaya. It left PF 3 for Gaya and immediately it was announced that Duronto was arriving on PF 3. It arrived with HWH WAP 4 sharp at 3:58 PM. 2AC coach was almost empty. Immediately Lemon water and Mineral water was served. At 4:30 Pm, evening snacks was given and it arrived sharp 6:15 PM at Gaya. Soup was given by 7 PM followed by Dinner by 8 PM. Train arrived sharp around 9:15...
more... PM at Mugal Sarai parallel entry with SK express. It left within 5 mins but started slower, but maintaining schedule till Allahabad. Around 2 PM, it was overtaken by Patna rajdhani. As I woke up by 7 AM, it was crossing Aligarh. It started very slow and arrived Gaziabad at 8:30 AM. It continued very slow and finally stopped near Mandawali station. I decided to get down at Mandawali as my house was near to Mandawali. It reached NDLS at 9:45 AM after SK express which arrived that day at 9:30 AM.
Observations:
1. It is a good train if one has to travel on time till Allahabad. Only sad part is it does not have stoppage at Asansol, Durgapur.
2. Food is good. I found it better than Patna Rajdhani. Pantry car staff is very prompt and helpful.
3. Coaches are well maintained with 24X7 cleaning staff.
4. It has sleeper coach, which is rare for a Super Premium train on this route as it takes shorter time with other trains with Sleeper coaches like Poorva. Kalka etc.
5. The bad thing is that it is treated like a normal express train after MGS. It was trailing Behind SK express after Kanpur, whom it overtook at MGS. Which means SK overtook it again near Kanpur. You can expect a delay of 2-3 hrs for reaching NDLS.
