The fastest Rajdhani of Indian Railways shows why its the fastest :D
Myself and Rf Amol Nikam had embarked on RF journey of which travelling by 12952 Rajdhani was the last part. We knew whats in the store (140 kph) short run, but always wanted to experience it! And we were not disappointed. Our train left on time and quickly galloped through the bottleneck around the NDLS NZM area, setting itself up for a brisk run until Mathura first & then even more faster run up until Kota. I had the Sportstracker app on running on my mobile ready to measure the speed! As we skipped Faridabad we slowed down initially to 60-65 kph & then accelerated all the way to 155.4kph....
more... Yes that's true!! This acceleration also coincided with a down gradient which is why we might have crossed the 150kph mark, but as expected it was short lived! only for 8 seconds after we crossed the 150 mark LP immediately slowed us down to 118 kph in about 8 seconds. he was managing the situation up until the down gradient was negotiated! After that speed was simply hovering around 140 kph, sometimes more sometimes less all the way until Palwal.......but it was a little period where RF would enjoy the most. I'm lucky to have witnessed this.
Post Palwal MPS was 130kph only.
In this video, we zip past Asaoti at MPS. Sadly the window was dirty so enjoy the view through the dirty window!! :)
Attaching pics so that people don't challenge the claim of 150+kph nor do they jump to conclusions that RAJ was over speeding or MPS has increased etc etc.... The 150+ speed did happen, but carefully check the 'Elevation' (blue) line....as elevation decreases speed increases and LP brings the speed down from 155.4 to 118.8 in about 7-8 seconds!!
