Grievance Description : Respected sir, While searching for flight tickets in IRCTC from Vizag to Bangalore and Chennai the fares are on very high side due to cancellation of Spice Jet flights. Most of the trains available from Vizag are given insufficient quota and PQWL by HQs so confirmation of tickets are difficult.
IndiGo Vizag 15:40 Bangalore 17:20 1h 40m Rs. 10247
Aircosta Vizag 08:35 Bangalore 10:10 1h 35m Rs. 11403
IndiGo Vizag 14:55 Chennai 16:25 1h 30m Rs. 7624
But it is unfortunate to note that some premium and convenient trains are bypassed Vizag or non-stop from Vijayawada to Bhubaneswar path is totally unjustified as Visakhapatnam is the most biggest city along the Chennai to Kolkata stretch. Some railway officials are undermining the importance of Visakhapatnam by totally neglecting to provide stoppages and non operating originating trains showing bias and partiality as many are demanding for formation of a new zone @ Vizag. Though a bi-weekly premium train runs from a place which is not of much demand simply because it happened to be HQs of Ecor it is run for prestige and show up. It looks like premium trains seems to be the birth right of zonal HQs and not a single LHB rake premium train originates/run by Ecor from Visakhapatnam though there is considerable demand to Chennai and Bengaluru. Earlier Prasanthi 18463/64 a daily train was extended to Bhubaneswar against the wishes of majority Vizag people though it was a occupied 100% from the originating station apart from that BBS-YPR weekly and PURI-YPR weekly are run from Odisha. But not a single originating train to Visakhapatnam to Mysore/Bengaluru (via Chennai). In the context of high flight fares and in view of IRTTC meeting schedule to be held at Allahabad in January it is requested to review the existing premiums run for Exp: like BBS-PUNE and BBS-BNC which are not getting sufficient patronage from originating stations. Simply directing zonal officials by sanctioning to run trains without proper review is nothing but wastage of rakes a big crime and misusing public money, when others need badly and where demand is much. Pl compare flights Vs trains from various places and plan to operate trains but not based on the place of HQs location. If the same trend is continued there will be more demands for formation of zones and divisions which is nothing but a self goal of destruction. Pl advice CPTMs SR and SWR to look into the genuine issues and plan to operate trains based on field (Scientific studies) requirements but not on their individual whims and fancies based on place of birth. Pl restrain to involve CPTM of Ecor in the entire episode as a demand for a train to VSKP will either land up in operational constraints and other issues like shortage of LPs, platforms, coaches, maintenance etc. Finally it is requested to operate a train to Mysore via Chennai and Bengaluru on permanent basis in view of the demand and a city which is bigger than BBS and PURI together of Ecor. We also request to to genuinely allot rakes to the divisions based on the waitlist of the originating station unlike clubbing with others and claiming to be its demand.

Details : Your demand regarding provide stoppage of all premium trains at Visakhapatnam has been examined. Train No. 02528/02527 KYQ-MAS premium weekly, 02841/02842 HWH-MAS premium weekly, 02882/02881 BBS-Pune weekly Premium, 00851/00852 BBS-BNC Bi-weekly Premium, 02853/02854 SRC-ERS weekly 02863/02864 YPR-HWH weekly premium special trains have stoppage at Visakhapatnam/Duvvada station. According to Railway Board circular premium trains have maximum 5 stoppages except originating and destination station. As a result, limited stoppage premium trains are bypassed at VSKP to maintain punctuality of running trains. BBS-Pune BBS-BNC premium special trains are fully patronized trains and both have stoppage at Visakhapatnam. Introduction of new train is a policy matter decided by the Railway Board. Presently 25 pairs of Express trains are running between VSKP MAS/MS and 12 pairs of Express trains are between VSKP SBC/YPR/BNC. Apart from these, some special trains are running by Railways to clear extra rush of passengers. Moreover, there are several train connectivities from Bangalore Chennai to Mysore which caters to the needs of the people of Visakhapatnam. I hope you will kindly appreciate the situation. Looking forward to your valuable suggestions in improving our services.
