This train is not an SER Train. Its an ECoR Train. There is difference between running a train from Tata to Puri and one running from Puri to Tata. Both SER and ECoR have been running regular trains and every year they run special trains as well from Puri to Bhanjpur, Bangriposi to Bhubneswar, Kolkata to Bhanjpur, Puri to Kendujhargarh etc. Puri – Tata Special is just a type of extension of Puri – Kendujhargarh Special. Had it been running from Puri to Kendujhargarh, there would be no objection to it and it would be a welcome for all. But the moment it touches Tata, question arises about the route to be wrong. Demand is less in this route but the demand is not zero. Several trains are run by railways despite running in loss just for Public welfare as it is a Government enterprise. SER has been running a Daily...

Tickets for this train are not sold at any of the stations en route (i.e. Tupadihi, Rangra and Rokshi) and this train has been running since more than the last 50 years for public benefit. Even on the high demanded routes many trains run on loss. Howrah – Barbil Jan Shatabdi express had very low demand when it had been running from Howrah to Rourkela, which improved on running it from Howrah to Barbil. Running trains only on the high demanded routes is just like developing the Cities more and more and neglecting the villages having less population. Should not the villages be developed?
