It was an overcast day with constant spurts of rain regularly and brief show up of sunlight at Bareilly. The weather in past few days have been miserable. To sum up, it had been a few days that I went for any RF session and I was waiting for the perfect day.

And there it was,...
more... it was the inaugural run of Kathgodam-Kanpur-Kathgodam Express which is now changed as an existing Garibrath. I was all set to leave my place, and thanking all rain Gods I reached IZN completely dry.🙂
After a brief stint and roam around the tracks, I spotted a multiple carriage van with OHEs on a bay PF aside PF1. I went for its inspection just to run into the SSE of IZN and DOM.

They questioned me for why was I taking snaps of OHE poles and station boards, surprisingly they understood the existence of RF activity at such sparsely crowded HQ station. They were too kind in timbre and made me clear for what actually is the reason to which OHE poles are to be commissioned to.

BIG SURPRISE: They cleared that these are for electrification of BE-IZN-PBE-TPU section and not for BE-IZN-LKU-KGM or BE-IZN-LKU-KPV-RMR section. They said that it's not even in their plans to electrify the above two routes at the first place.
.
In the meanwhile, the announcement went for 12209 Kanpur Kathgodam Express which was to be captured for the first time, hearing the honk I was enticed to witness an alco, which must definitely might have belonged to LDH shed, nevertheless the train arrived at PF1 which saw a huge bunch of crowd deboarding and many boarding as well, to be honest post BE-IZN the train was at 30 percent occupancy while before it, it must be close to 90 percent.

Now coming to the real question, how did this Garibrath converted Express fared in terms of coach condition...
Well to be true, the standards maintained by Kanpur Garibrath then and the condition of the rake now is too repugnant and miserable. Old coaches basically ICF coaches made before 2010, with poor condition of seats and a dirty rake is all I could say the least, being too much disappointed by this change.

This was the first actual Garibrath alongwith it's RSA partner JAT-KGM-JAT Garibrath that went down on the chopping board of Ministry of Railways.
