New Delhi Railway Station Retiring Room (Paharganj side) (PF 1) :-

Cleanliness &Maintainance - Both nèed a overhaul. The linen & room was clean, but washroom was not. The flush was not working properly, geyser needed repairing & washroom fittings were not good (especially sewage pipes). Electrical fittings of room are OK. Walls, you can see in the pic attached. Furniture is good. One three seater sofa, one table is present in the room.

Overall - An OK deal for 12 hrs (around 400 rs.), especially if you have to catch an early morning train. Or you can try the Ajmeri Gate side (which are costlier, around 600 for 12 hrs.).
NOT recommended for long stay, better take a hotel.

Yes, indeed it is. I just had to stay for 6 hrs (arr by DDN Shatabdi & dep by BSB VB), So took this for 400 rs. Had it been more stay, would have simply gone to relative's quarter in Tihar or took a hotel. Definitely not recommended for long stay.

This train is referred as King. Paid 3085 for 3A, which includes food. But totally disappointed with food menu.
Evening 2 nos of ₹5 packets of odd brand snacks, one ₹20 son papdi, one off brand orange juice and tea.
Dinner 3 oil free hard roti, paneer gravy, rice Dal and curd. Plus Amul Vanilla ice cream. No soup or soup sticks etc.

before every one wakes up, catering persons distributed tea and biscuits. When I woke up at 0630, they were collecting back hot water flasks!!. Breakfast was 2 pieces of bread which was so hard, poha, juice and tea. Some got butter, some got ketchup, some others got both and few others nothing!!
Promptly catering persons came for Chai Pani tips!!.
Rajdhani food standards gone down drastically.
If I travel next time, definitely opt out of catering, which can save me ₹400 plus GST.
Better to take MHSK/ GR/ Yuva running on fast slots, compared with this Rajdhani.

ya, pax is free to pay or not.If you don't like the service, just don't pay. In 22221 Rajdhani 1A, they didn't even ask for it. Just did their work, & at the end with folded hands said, "Sir, seva samapt ab". That train has really good food & staff.. Sad to notice this condition of 12951/52.

Soup has been stopped in 3a, 2a for long now. Almost 2-3 years or probably somewhat more. Available only 1A. & ya, regarding morning tea, they should serve a bit late to whole train or atleast to those passengers who request them. Feels like they are obliging us by serving the food whose price has already been paid. In overnight rajdhanis like Howrah, sealdah, patna, ranchi, mumbai, AK, SJ Raj, its better to avoid food. In half that amount one can order a good thali from ecatering for dinner.
