Karauta-Patner station is located on the Kiul-Gaya railway line, while Ashok Dham station is on the Patna-Jhajha main line. Currently, trains coming from the Gaya-Kiul section, if they need to go to Patna, have to go to Kiul first, where the engine is reversed before proceeding to Patna. Once this surface triangle is operational, trains coming from Gaya towards Patna will directly travel from Karauta-Patner to Ashok Dham without going to Kiul. This will eliminate the need for engine reversal, leading to improved operational efficiency and punctuality.

Abhi, Gaya-Kiul section se aane wali trains, agar Patna jana hota hai, to pehle Kiul jaate hai, jahan engine reverse kiya jaata hai, phir Patna ki taraf aati hai. Yeh surface triangle operational hone se, Gaya se Patna ki taraf aane wali trains, Kiul gaye bina, Karauta-Patner se direct Ashok Dham tak jaayengi. Isse engine reverse ki zarurat nahi hogi, jisse operational efficiency aur punctuality me improvement aayega.
