Pune, Darbhanga to New Delhi, Darbhanga to New Delhi/Hisar, Samastipur to Lokmanya Terminal, and Barauni to Udhana (Surat). The Railway Zones and Divisions have started preparations, but the exact routes are yet to be decided. The two Darbhanga-New Delhi trains are expected to run via Muzaffarpur and Gorakhpur.

Several special trains will operate between Delhi and Patna to accommodate the expected rush of passengers during Diwali and Chhath.
