The incident is suspected to be the result of a land dispute with the woman's relatives, specifically her husband's uncle and brother. The woman and her two children were from the same family. The bodies were discovered by locals on Saturday morning. The police, after initial suspicion of suicide, were informed about the incident. The police investigation revealed that the victims were tied up and beaten to death before their bodies were dumped on the railway tracks. The woman's 14-15-year-old daughter escaped the attack and witnessed the murders of her brother, sister, and the unidentified man. A local, Jumbal Sinku, identified the woman's body as his brother's wife and confirmed that it was murder, not suicide. The police, including the SDPO Jagannathpur, a forensic team, and a sniffer dog, are investigating the incident. The SDPO confirmed that the victims were murdered elsewhere and their bodies were then disposed of on the railway tracks to make it appear like suicide.
