This will be the fourth Vande Bharat service passing through Prayagraj, in addition to the existing two Varanasi-New Delhi routes and the Gorakhpur route. The Agra Cantt-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express train number is 20176, while the Varanasi-Agra Cantt train number is 20175. The train will consist of 20 coaches and will be painted in saffron color. The number of coaches on the existing Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will increase to 20 starting from September 17th, with train numbers 22435 and 22436 for the respective routes. The Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express (train numbers 22415 and 22416) will also have 20 coaches and will be welcomed at Prayagraj Junction starting from September 18th.

The train currently has an average occupancy of 60-65%, with passengers preferring the State Rani Express and Nauchandi due to the higher ticket price of the Vande Bharat. The railway is exploring the feasibility of extending the train to Varanasi. There are existing shuttle trains and other trains connecting Lucknow to Varanasi, including the Bareilly Varanasi Express. The Vande Bharat Express has vacant seats, while the State Rani and Nauchandi trains are experiencing waiting lists. On September 15th, 16th, and 18th, the Vande Bharat Express (train number 22489) had 281, 289, and 360 vacant seats in the chair car, and 30, 18, and 26 vacant seats in the executive class, which costs Rs. 2365. The State Rani Express (train number 22453) had 35 waiting list passengers across its chair car and AC classes. The Nauchandi Express had waiting lists for all classes for the next three days. The Daily Passenger Association President, S.S Uppal, suggests extending the Vande Bharat to Prayagraj instead of Varanasi for the benefit of people traveling to the Allahabad High Court. He recommends a schedule that accommodates those commuting to the High Court.
