this for years, highlighting the limited platform space at Ernakulam Junction, which can only accommodate trains with up to 24 coaches. They suggest using the Old Railway Station and Cochin Harbour Terminus to handle some trains currently terminating at Ernakulam Junction and Town, thereby easing congestion. Additionally, extending some trains to Kottayam has also been proposed. The Railways are working with the State government to explore these options, including an overbridge at Vathuruthy to connect to the Cochin Harbour Terminus. The Cochin Harbour Terminus was last operational in 2004, after a dredger incident damaged its bridges. The Old Railway Station, spread across 42 acres, is also seen as a potential solution to the overcrowding at Ernakulam Junction.

aaye hain, aur yeh point karte hain ki Ernakulam Junction mein sirf 6 platforms mein se 3 hi 24 coaches wali trains ko handle kar sakte hain. Unka suggestion hai ki Ernakulam Junction aur Town stations pe khत्म होने wali kuch trains ko Old Railway Station aur Cochin Harbour Terminus pe extend kiya jaaye, jisse congestion kam ho. Kottayam tak kuch trains extend karne ka bhi proposal hai. Railways iske liye State government ke saath milkar kaam kar rahi hai, aur isme Vathuruthy pe ek overbridge bhi banaya jaayega jisse Cochin Harbour Terminus se connection ho. Cochin Harbour Terminus pe aakhir baar 2004 mein trains chalti thi, jab ek dredger ke incident se uske bridges kharab ho gaye the. Old Railway Station 42 acres mein hai, aur yeh bhi Ernakulam Junction ke overcrowding ko solve karne ka ek solution mana ja raha hai.
