Railway officials confirmed that coal is supplied from Bokaro to western Uttar Pradesh for power generation. Around 9:45 am, the control room received a report of the fire in the train traveling from Bokaro to Kalanaur in Saharanpur. The train was halted on track number 8 at Alamanagar. The fire originated from rack number 62088. Firefighters extinguished the fire using hoses and pumping water from fire tankers. Minimal damage was caused to the coal. After the fire was put out, an inspection was conducted, and the train continued its journey to Saharanpur.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the ASI and DMS red-handed accepting bribes of ₹9000 and ₹8200, respectively. Both were arrested and produced before the Special Judge Anti Corruption CBI Court (West), Lucknow. The CBI conducted searches at their residences and recovered incriminating documents. Akash Yadav complained that he had purchased 50 metric tons of railway scrap from Alam Bagh Store with his cousin, and had already removed 22 metric tons. ASI Manoj Rai demanded ₹1000 per truck, ₹150 per ton, and ₹300 for the duty staff. DMS Aviral Kumar demanded ₹800 per truck and ₹100 per ton. When Yadav couldn't fulfill these demands, he was harassed. Even after paying for the remaining 28 metric tons and getting permission for cutting, Yadav was abused and threatened by ASI Manoj Rai. Yadav also reported that he was being pressured by both individuals for the entire payment for both the previous and current lots, demanding ₹12,800 from Manoj Rai and ₹8,200 from Aviral Kumar. This demand was being made to Yadav's cousin, Vikas Yadav, who interacted with them for work-related matters.

The CBI conducted searches at the residences of both accused and found some incriminating documents. The complaint alleged that Rai demanded ₹1000 per truck, ₹150 per ton, and ₹300 for duty staff while Kumar demanded ₹800 per truck and ₹100 per ton for allowing the removal of 50 metric tonnes of scrap purchased by Yadav and his cousin, Vikas Yadav. Yadav reported being harassed due to his inability to meet these demands. Further, he revealed that he was being pressured to pay for both past and present deliveries for a 28 ton lot scheduled for delivery between June 12th and 13th. Separately, the CBI arrested Vinod Kumar, a postal assistant stationed at Nanpara, Bahraich, on Thursday for accepting a ₹20,000 bribe. He had demanded ₹2 lakhs to resolve a departmental case against the complainant, claiming influence with unknown senior officers. He agreed to accept ₹20,000 as partial payment.

मांग रहे थे। सीबीआई ने मेसर्स विशाल ट्रेडर्स नादरगंज लखनऊ के प्रोपराइटर आकाश यादव की शिकायत पर 13 जून को एफआईआर दर्ज की। फिर जाल बिछाकर एएसआई और डीएमएस को शिकायतकर्ता से क्रमशः 9000 रुपये व 8200 रुपये रिश्वत के तौर पर स्वीकार करते हुए रंगे हाथ पकड़ लिया। दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर शुक्रवार को विशेष न्यायाधीश भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक सीबीआई कोर्ट (पश्चिम) लखनऊ की अदालत के समक्ष पेश किया गया। सीबीआई ने दोनों के आवासों की तलाशी ली, जहां से उसे कुछ आपत्तिजनक दस्तावेज मिले हैं। आकाश यादव ने सीबीआई से शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी कि उसने अपने चचेरे भाई विकास यादव के साथ मिलकर आलमबाग स्टोर से 50 मीट्रिक टन रेलवे स्क्रैप की खरीद की थी, जिसमें से 22 मीट्रिक टन की लॉट उसके द्वारा उठा ली गई थी। इस पर रेलवे सुरक्षा बल (आरपीएफ) के एएसआई मनोज राय ने 1000 रुपये प्रति ट्रक, 150 रुपये प्रति टन और 300 रुपये ड्यूटी स्टॉफ की मांग की गई थी। साथ ही रेलवे के डीएमएस अविरल कुमार ने 800 रुपये प्रति ट्रक तथा 100 रुपये प्रति टन की मांग की गई। वह यह मांग पूरी नहीं कर सका तो उसे विभिन्न तरीकों से परेशान किया जा रहा है। आकाश यादव ने यह भी बताया कि 12 से 13 जून के बीच मेरी 28 टन की लॉट की डिलीवरी होनी है। वह जब भी डिपो के अंदर जाता है तो दोनों व्यक्तियों द्वारा पिछली लॉट और इस लॉट का पूरा पैसा बतौर रिश्वत मांगा जा रहा है। इससे पहले सीबीआई ने गुरुवार को नानपारा बहराइच में तैनात डाक सहायक विनोद कुमार को 20 हजार रुपये घूस लेते गिरफ्तार किया था। उसने विभाग के अज्ञात वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ संबंध होने के प्रभाव का उपयोग करके शिकायतकर्ता के विरुद्ध विभागीय मामला निपटाने के लिए दो लाख रुपये रिश्वत की मांग की थी और आंशिक भुगतान के रूप में 20 हजार रुपये स्वीकार करने पर सहमति दी थी।
