third platform at Kasaragod station is being prepared for this service. The Nileshwar Railway Development Collective (NRDC) President, K.M. Gopalakrishnan, and Secretary, N. Sadashivan, along with representatives from the Malabar Rail Users Association, are advocating for this extension. They emphasize the need to address the current lack of transportation options for residents of Kannapuram, Pazhayangadi, Payyannur, and Kasaragod. Extending the train service is expected to reduce the strain on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Netravati Express and the Parasuram Express to Mangalore. The Shoranur-Kannur-Shoranur Unreserved Special Express (06031/06032) covers over 200 km and has a minimum fare of Rs. 30, while regular passenger train fares are Rs. 10. Usually, trains traveling over 200 km are classified as express services. However, the Shoranur-Kannur route is only 176 km long, falling under the special service category to manage congestion.

hain. Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express (20631/20632) Mangalore se apni journey shuru karta hai, aur Kasaragod station pe teesra platform is service ke liye banaya ja raha hai. Nileshwar Railway Development Collective (NRDC) ke President, K.M. Gopalakrishnan, aur Secretary, N. Sadashivan, saath hi Malabar Rail Users Association ke representatives, yeh extension ke liye demand kar rahe hain. Woh Kannapuram, Pazhayangadi, Payyannur, aur Kasaragod ke residents ko aane jane ke liye transport options ke kam hone ki baat kar rahe hain. Train service ko badhaane se Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Netravati Express aur Parasuram Express to Mangalore pe load kam ho jaayega. Shoranur-Kannur-Shoranur Unreserved Special Express (06031/06032) 200 km se zyada ki journey karta hai aur minimum fare Rs. 30 hai, jabki regular passenger train fares Rs. 10 hain. Usually, 200 km se zyada ki journey karne wali trains ko express services me rakha jaata hai. Lekin, Shoranur-Kannur route sirf 176 km lamba hai, isliye yeh special service category me aata hai, jisse congestion manage ki ja sake.
