The Chakradharpur Division of the Indian Railways has begun the promotion process for 314 Class IV railway employees. These employees will have to take an exam to be eligible for promotion. An additional 135 employees are being promoted to Guard positions. The Railway is also initiating promotions for qualified employees to Commercial Clerk, Ticket Collector, and 19 Track Maintainer Junior Engineer positions. The promotion process is being undertaken as a means of filling vacancies arising from retirements and a lack of recruitment from Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
