The current Congress government is focusing on the Metro's second phase expansion, with plans to extend it across 6 corridors totaling 70 kilometers at a cost of ₹17,500 crore. Residents are urging the government to consider the Metro Neo project, especially for the IT corridor. Metro Neo costs significantly less to build per kilometer compared to the regular metro system. The previous government had proposed an elevated bus rapid transit system (EBRTS) as a solution for traffic in the IT corridor but failed to implement it despite having a DPR ready in 2022. While the previous government had announced plans for the Metro Neo in less congested areas, it took no action on them.

Abhi Congress government Metro ke dusre phase ke expansion pe focus kar rahi hai, jisme 6 corridors mein 70 kilometer ka extension hoga aur iske liye ₹17,500 crore ka budget hai. Log government se demand kar rahe hain ki woh IT corridor mein Metro Neo project ko bhi consider kare. Metro Neo ko build karne ka kharcha har kilometer per kam padta hai compared to normal metro system. Pehle wali government ne IT corridor mein traffic ke liye elevated bus rapid transit system (EBRTS) ka proposal diya tha, lekin uske liye DPR 2022 mein ready hone ke baad bhi kuchh nahi kiya. Pehle wali government ne yeh bhi announce kiya tha ki kam congested areas mein Metro Neo aayega, par usne kuchh action nahi liya.
