Board after they requested a feasibility study within 30 days. The Rajdhani Express currently travels through Chhapra and Balia to reach New Delhi, but a Gorakhpur route would shorten the distance and travel time to Lucknow. The exact arrival and departure times for Gorakhpur are still being finalized. The Hindustan newspaper led a campaign in April to advocate for this route change, and MP Ravi Kishan supported the initiative.

Iske baad, Northeast Railway ne Gorakhpur se Rajdhani chalane ki feasibility report submit kiya hai. Abhi Gorakhpur pe arrival aur departure time decide nahin hua hai, but Gorakhpur se chalne pe train Gorakhpur pe raat 12 baje aayegi. Aajkal, Dibrugarh se chalne wali Rajdhani Express Chhapra aur Balia se ho kar Varanasi aur fir Lucknow-Kanpur se ho kar Delhi jaati hai. Agar Gorakhpur se chalayenge, toh Lucknow tak distance kam hoga aur time bhi bacha hoga. Hindustan newspaper ne April mein Gorakhpur se Rajdhani Express chalane ki demand ko support kiya tha, aur MP Ravi Kishan ne bhi yeh demand ko support kiya tha.
