WR cleaned 495 culverts and 203 km of drains, studied water flow patterns in yards, and constructed new drains. High-capacity pumps were installed in water-logging prone areas and railway workshops/colonies. 14 Automatic Rain Gauges (ARG) and flood gauges were also installed. Vulnerable trees were trimmed, EMU rakes inspected, and monsoon patrolling will be conducted by patrolmen and bridge guards. WR is coordinating with disaster management cells and municipal corporations to prevent garbage disposal on tracks and to ensure timely information about dam releases. Special timetables have been adopted for high tide and heavy rainfall days. Local transport arrangements will be made during emergencies. WR is monitoring and ensuring disruption-free travel for commuters.
