The division is focused on enhancing passenger amenities and has implemented water recycling plants at several stations, including Barkakana, which currently recycles 0.5 MLD of water for reuse. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to stabilize the track at Sonardih on the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line, which was affected by a subsidence caused by an underground fire. This subsidence, resulting from a 9 square meter void left after coal extraction by the Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), is being filled with a mixture of sand and water.
