Thousands of passengers travel through this station daily, yet it lacks proper drinking water arrangements. Local residents and travelers have demanded the railway officials to install a deep bore well to provide clean drinking water at the Salmari railway station.

se bahut baar maang ki gayi hai clean pani ke liye, par department kuchh nahin kar raha hai. Platform number two pe ek bhi chapakals ya nals nahin hai. Toh kai baar jab long-distance express train ya military train rukti hai, toh passengers peene ke pani ke liye idhar-udhar bhatakte hain. Hazaron passengers yahaan rozana travel karte hain, par is station pe peene ke pani ki proper arrangement nahin hai. Local residents aur passengers ne railway officials se maang ki hai ki Salmari station pe deep boring karke clean pani provide kiya jaaye.
