It is suspected that she committed suicide due to some dispute, though her cousin brother denied any conflict at home. Sujata's father is deceased, and her mother lives in Chaibasa. She was living with her aunt and attending school.

Police case ki jaanch kar rahi hai, aur uske body ko post-mortem ke liye bheja gaya hai.
