On Sunday night around 9 pm, 26-year-old Jiten Modi, a resident of Dhaura, was killed by a goods train near Pathardih Block Halt Line Signal No. S2, about 100 meters from the Pathardih Bhatdih gate. His head was severed from his body. The railway line was blocked for approximately 3 hours...

following the incident. Despite the incident, no railway official was aware of it. Railway officials, staff, and GRP remained uninformed. The body remained on the railway track until Monday morning at 11 am, with Jiten's younger sister pleading for the body to be removed. The Pathardih police were eventually informed on Monday and the body was sent for postmortem after a panchnama was conducted. According to reports, the train driver informed the gate man and station master in Bhatdih about the incident. However, the Pathardih station master denied knowledge of the incident. The GRP claimed they could not remove the body without a memo from the station master and later distanced themselves, stating that the incident did not fall under their jurisdiction. Locals reported seeing the GRP at the scene after being informed about the incident and leaving after seeing the body. The body remained on the railway line for 15 hours, emitting a foul odor. The Pathardih police station officer, Pawan Chandra Pathak, intervened and sent the body for postmortem. Jiten's father, Shashodar Modi, and elder brother had previously died. Out of his four sisters, three – Nonibala, Anguri, and Nitu – were married with the help of local people. Naina, his remaining sister, lived with him. Jiten worked as a daily wage laborer at a brick kiln to support himself and his sister.
