Meanwhile, the railway police are investigating the involvement of a woman from Chennai and other accused individuals. The victims stated they paid Anshuman for the job but never met him. Anshuman is believed to be the mastermind of the fake job racket, while others acted as agents. According to the SP, this scam, involving training and defrauding youth in the name of jobs, has been ongoing since November 2023 in the Chakradharpur division. For a month, youth were given training in January for the role of booking clerks at Gamharia station, after which they were sent home due to the termination of the ticket agent's contract. They were subsequently called back for training for ticket sales at Birbans station from March onwards. However, the South East Zone Vigilance team exposed the scam on Tuesday and apprehended three victims and one accused. The three victims, Dhivin Kumar from Tamil Nadu, and Rupam Shah and Shubhasish Mandal from Nadia, West Bengal, will be sent home after recording their statements in court, to assist with the investigation. Their families are also cooperating with the investigation. The police are not pursuing charges against the victims, as they were victims of the job scam.
