Slow Progress In Yeshwanthpur-Channasandra Track Doubling Project

The Yeshwanthpur-Channasandra track doubling project (48 km, Rs 498.73 crore) is 25% complete, while the Baiyappanahalli-Channasandra project (21.70 km, Rs 314.10 crore) is 55% complete. stretch (8.1 km) is expected to be complete by June 2024, the Yeshwanthpur bypass to Lottegollahalli’s fourth line (2.5 km) by December 2024, and the Hebbal-Baiyappanahalli stretch (11.6 km) by December 2024. The Baiyappanahalli-Hosur doubling works (48 km) commenced in February, with tenders awarded for various tasks and completion expected within the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-28. Corridor-2 (Chikkabanavara-Yeshwanthpur-Baiyappanahalli, 25 km) and Corridor-4 (Rajanakunte-Yelahanka-Baiyappanahalli-Heelalige, 46.24 km) are also progressing, with contractors appointed for preliminary work and tenders for Rolling Stock procurement under Public-Private Partnership issued. This project aims for completion by December 2027. The Karnataka government and Railway Departments jointly sanctioned the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur and Yeshwantpur-Channasandra railway double-track construction via K-Ride on a cost-sharing basis in June 2020.

Baiyappanahalli-Hosur doubling works (48 km) February mein shuru hue, various tasks ke liye tenders award kiye gaye hai aur 2023-24 aur 2024-28 fiscal years mein kai sections complete hone ki ummeed hai. Corridor-2 (Chikkabanavara-Yeshwanthpur-Baiyappanahalli, 25 km) aur Corridor-4 (Rajanakunte-Yelahanka-Baiyappanahalli-Heelalige, 46.24 km) mein bhi progress ho raha hai, preliminary work ke liye contractors appoint kiye gaye hai aur Public-Private Partnership ke under Rolling Stock procurement ke liye tenders issue kiye gaye hai. December 2027 tak project complete hone ka lakshya hai.
