Demolition will start after the HSC and SSC board exams conclude on March 19 and 26, respectively, to minimize disruption to students. The bridge will be closed for vehicles during demolition, which will be followed by reconstruction costing INR 50 crore. Constructed in 1912, the bridge connects Dharavi, LBS Road, and Eastern Express Highway, and its closure might cause traffic congestion on alternative routes. An April 2020 IIT Bombay audit deemed the bridge unsafe due to structural deterioration, prompting safety concerns.

Demolition ke time bridge vehicles ke liye band rahega aur iske baad 50 crore INR ke cost se reconstruction shuru hoga. 1912 mein banaya gaya, Sion Bridge Dharavi, LBS Road, aur Eastern Express Highway ko connect karta hai. Iske band hone se east-west connectors pe traffic jam ho sakta hai. April 2020 mein IIT Bombay ke audit report mein bridge ko structure ki deterioration ke wajah se unsafe declare kiya gaya tha, jisse safety concerns uthi thi.
